Climate Conscious Actions

The Australasian Land and Groundwater conference aims to be the most sustainable conference possible.

Actions have been put in place to better respect our environment during the conference. We strongly encourage our delegates, visitors, exhibitors and sponsors to adopt the following actions wherever possible:

  • No single-use plastic

  • Extra bins available for different waste purposes: general waste, compost, recycling

  • Bring your reusable water bottle – water stations will be available to fill them up

  • Carpooling – we strongly encourage you to travel to the conference with a group of your peers or use 1 Uber/Taxi for a few people instead of travelling on your own (and share the fun)

  • We will have options for vegetarians and vegans – make sure you add your dietary requirement while you are registering

  • No printed program, the program will be available online only via QR Code

  • Virtual Satchel

  • The most carbon-neutral booth will be elected and announced at the Conference Dinner

  • We strongly encourage our exhibitors to provide sustainable goodies

More actions to come!

In pursuing their sustainability vision, the VRC is committed to attaining the highest standards in environmental performance.

VCR aims to continually improve the efficient use of resources, particularly water and energy, and minimise the use of chemicals and consumables.

VCR’s sustainability objectives include continually improving the management of their waste materials and effluents.
